How to block notifications from Greetings Cards and Holidays Cards in Facebook?





Recently, we had a question from one of our readers :

Hello, I used the apps Greetings Cards and Holidays Cards to send wishes and cards to my friends in Facebook.  I no longer use it, but still I get notifications from those apps. Can you tell me how do I block those apps and stop receiving notifications from them?

Thanks for the question.  Greetings Cards and Holidays Cards are widely used in Facebook to convey wishes to their friends by the users.  To stop receiving notifications from these apps, you must block them in Facebook.

You can block interactions with application on Facebook in the following three ways :

1) Remove the app – first method:

  • You can find all your apps you use at the left of your News Feed in Facebook.
  • Click on the pencil like icon that appears when you hover your mouse over the name of the app.

  • Click on Remove App to remove the app and block notifications.

2) Remove the app – second method:

  • Click on Account Settings in the drop down at the top right of your Facebook page.
  • Click on Apps in the list at the left to open the App Settings page.

  • Search for your app from the list and click on edit adjacent to the name of the app.
  • Click on Remove App to remove and block the app.

3) Stop notifications, requests and invites from others:

  • Click on the icon that lists Friend Requests, and click on See All Requests at the bottom.
  • You can see all the friend requests, app requests and invites in the page that opens.
  • Search for the requests from Holidays Cards or Greetings cards and click on the ‘x’ mark near to the request.
  • As you click on it, it would ask you whether to Block Holidays Cards?
  • Click on it to block the app and to stay away from further notifications from the app.
