How to set an away message on MySpace?

Question:

I receive loads of email messages from people on MySpace. I plan to be away for a while due to a personal vacation. Can i set an automatic away message on MySpace that will be sent to people mailing me while i am away? (basically i am looking for a similar functionality than the one offered in Microsoft Outlook)

Answer:

Yes you can. Setting an automatic away message is quite easy. Simply do the following:

  • Login to MySpace.com
  • Click Account Settings
  • Hit Miscellaneous
  • Specify the content of your away message.
  • Click Save All Changes

    hello. i see that you helped a person out with a myspace away message. maybe you can further help me.

    i did exactly as you said, account setting, misc, away message.

    i had my sister try sending me an email and the away message didn’t show up. all it does is remove the recipient and show this in the top corner:

    this person was removed because they have set up an away message.

    i’m hoping to fix this so that they know why they can’t email me rather than a one by one explanation, or misunderstanding!

    yeah, since myspace do changes and we can send normal mail to more than one person, we can’t really see away messages cause they automatically remove all those who left it.
    [sorry for my language mistakes, im not speaking english well]
