How to change your Hotmail password ?
Easy instructions for changing your Live Hotmail password.
If you have registered an account with a free web based email service provider (such as Hotmail / Live Hotmail, GMail, Yahoo Mail etc’), you might want to keep your account secure by periodically changing its password.
Here’s a quick procedure you should follow in order to change your Hotmail (now named Windows Live Hotmail) password:
- Login to your Hotmail mail account.
- Click the Options button (at the right hand side)
- Click More Options
- In the Manage your Account Settings, click View and edit your personal information.
- At this stage you might be prompted to authenticate yourself by supplying your current password.
- Click the Change link at the right hand side of your password. The following form will open up:
- Enter your current password, and type your new selected password twice.
- Tip: If you want your password to auto-expire, click the Make my password expire every 72 days check box.
- Click Save.

Hotmail live a/c is not proper respond to change the password. After going to personal information it shows loading…… option contineous and nothing going onward option.

i am sorry to say that i was unable to change my hotmail password as per instructions given above. after cliking on the option of view n edit ur personal information, it shows no option of change, rather it continuously shows loading option…. i would appreciate if u could help properly rather than misguiding!

you can change your password for hotmail by clicking the link “forgot password” before you sign in and it gives the option to reset it two ways: “by my location and secret answer” or “send instructions to my email”. The first option works as long as you remember your location and secret answer when you first opened the account. The second option did not work for me because it the instructions require you to copy and paste and go to a link that has a loading problem. hope that helps!
