How to uninstall a Sidebar gadget ?





Here’s the process to follow to uninstall a Microsoft Windows Vista sidebar gadget:

  • Click the + icon at the top of your Sidebar to open the Gadgets window.
  • A list of all installed gadgets will be displayed
  • Right click the gadget you would like to uninstall
  • Click Uninstall
  • Close the Gadgets window.

If you just want to remove a gadget from the sidebar, follow this procedure:

  • Click the Start button to display the Vista start menu
  • Click the Control Panel
  • Click Windows Sidebar properties
  • In the Maintenance section, click View list of running gadget
  • Highlight the gadget you’ll like to uninstall, the click Remove
  • Click Close

Or alternatively:

  • Right Click the gadget
  • Click on Detach from Sidebar.

    i installed bigpond.usage gadget and later wanted to uninstalled that but it didnt as it says You need permission to do that? please help

    iv been trying to remove the gadgets from my side bar but every time i do that my laptop freezes. there are too many of the gadgets on the side bar so can u help me find an another way of removing them..
